S, Government d e p o s i t s , and $402 m i l l i o n i n demand deposits credited t o domestic banks, and a decrease of $354 m i l l i o n i n demand d e p o s i t s adjusted* Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans decreased $65 m i l l i o n i n New York City, $25 m i l l i o n i n Chicago, $17 m i l l i o n i n the San Francisco D i s t r i c t , and a t o t a l of $106 m i l l i o n at a l l reporting member banks. Changes according t o industry appear i n another press r e l e a s e . Loans t o brokers and dealers f o r purchasing or carrying U, S, Government and other s e c u r i t i e s increased $282 m i l l i o n . Real e s t a t e loans decreased $49 m i l l i o n .
