CONDITIO!1 OF FEDERAL RESERVE BAMS The d a i l y average volume of Federal r e s e r v e bank c r e d i t o u t s t a n d i n g during the week ending October 5, a s r e p o r t e d by the F e d e r a l r e s e r v e Danks, was $2,242,000,000, a decrease of $9,000,000 compared with the p r e c e d i n g week and an i n c r e a s e of $485,000,000 compared with the corresponding week in 1931. On October 5 t o t a l Reserve bank c r e d i t amounted to $2,241,000,000, unchanged from a week ago. Increases of $44,000,000 i n money i n c i r c u l a t i o n , $-15>000,000 in member bank r e s e r v e b a l a n c e s and Al,000,000 i n unexpended c a p i t a l f u n d s , were o f f s e t by i n c r e a s e s of $16,000,000 i n monetary gold stock and $44,000,000 i n Treasury currency, a d j u s t e d . Holdings of d i s c r u n t e d b i l l s i n c r e a s e d $4,000,000 a t the F e d e r a l Reserve Bank of San F r a n c i s c o and decreased 44,000,0 )0 a t P h i l a d e l p h i a and $6,000,000 a t a l l Federal r e s e r v e b a n k s . The System's h o l d i n g s of b i l l s bought in open market show l i t t l e change f o r the week, while h o l d i n g s of United S t a t e s Treasury n o t e s _ d e c l i n e d $7,000,000 and h o l d i n g s of Treasury c e r t i f i c a t e s and b i l l s i n c r e a s e d $5,000,000.
