C01-7DITI0II OF FEDERAL RESERVE BA2JKS The d a i l y average volume of Federal r e s e r v e bank c r e d i t o u t s t a n d i n g d u r i n g the week ending October l 4 , as r e p o r t e d by the Federal r e s e r v e banks, was $2,03o,000,000, an i n c r e a s e of $279.000,000 compared with the p r e c e d i n g week and of $1,010,000,000 compared with the corresponding week in 1930. On October l 4 t o t a l r e s e r v e bank c r e d i t o u t s t a n d i n g amounted to $2,125,000,000, an i n c r e a s e of $286,000,000 f o r t h e week. This i n c r e a s e corresponds with i n c r e a s e s of $42,000,000 i n money i n c i r c u l a t i o n and $91,000,000 i n unexpended c a p i t a l f u n d s , nonrnember d e p o s i t s , e t c . , and a decrease of $218,000,000 in monetary gold stock, o f f s e t i n p a r t by a decrease of $54,000,000 in member bank r e s e r v e b a l a n c e s and an i n c r e a s e of $10,000,000 i n Treasury c u r r e n c y , a d j u s t e d . Holdings of discounted b i l l s i n c r e a s e d $83,000,000 a t the Federal Reserve Bank of Hew York, $19,000,000 a t P h i l a d e l p h i a , $16,000,000 each a t Cleveland and San F r a n c i s c o , $11,000,000 a t Chicago, $5,000,000 a t Kansas City and $164,000,000 a t a l l Federal r e s e r v e banks. The System's holdings of b i l l s bought i n open market increased $149,000,000, while h o l d i n g s of United S t a t e s bonds d e c l i n e d $10,000,000 and of Treasury c e r t i f i c a t e s and b i l l s $1,000,000.
