FEDERAL RESERVE '°f*Au&?y Factors Affecting Bank Reserves and Condition Statement of F.R. Banks For immediate release November 9, 1972 H.4.1 The average of daily figures for total reserves of member banks declined $90 million in the latest statement week to $33,683 million. Required reserves and member bank borrowings at Federal Reserve Banks increased while excess reserves declined. A more than seasonal decline in float and increases in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and currency in circulation were the major factors absorbing reserves in the latest statement week. System Open Market operations supplied $600 million reserves net, on a weekly average basis, through repurchase agreements. Member bank borrowings averaged $958 million and exceeded excess reserves by $852 million compared to $289 million for the previous week.
