November 3, 1999, the face amount of marketable U.S. government securities held in custody by the
Federal Reserve Banks for foreign official and international accounts was
610,057 million, a change of
+$ 1,909 million for the week. The total includes the face value of U.S. Treasury strips and other zero
coupon bonds.

Wednesday statement date) matched sale-purchase transactions, of which $
