CONDITION OF FEDEF.AL RESER\i"E BANKS The consol ic:laten staterrent of con0i tion of the Fecleral :reserve banks on November 19, made public by the Fec:leral Reserve Boa~, snows increases of $9,600,000 in holc:l ings of 0 iscounted bills and of $27, 100,000 in acceptances purchased in open market 1 together with a clecline of ~1,300,000 in Goverr~ent securities. Total ear'1J.ng assets went up $34,400,000 to $1,099,000,000, total c:l epos its increased by $35,000,000, cash reserves by $5,300,000 anc:l non-reserve cash by $1,300,000, while Feneral reserve note circulation declined by $5,700,000. An increase of $25,800,000 in holdings of discountec:l bills was reported by the York Feriera1 reserve banl" anc:l of $2,600,000 by the Atlanta bank, while Cleve1anci reported a decline of ~15,300,000 in its discount holclings and San Francisco a ~s qline of $5,500,000. The remaining banks show smaller changes in thJir discount holdings fer the week. Holdings of paper secureCl by U. s. Governm.:lnt obligations c'lecreasec:l by $10,700,000 to $84,700,000. ~ew j Larger holdirgs of acceptances purchased in open market are reported by all Federal reserve banks except Richmond, Chicago and Minnaapolis.
