FEDERAL Factors Affecting Condition Bank Statement of RESERVE Reserves F.R. and Banks F o r immediate r e l e a s e June 9, 1966 H.4.1 The average of daily figures of total member bank reserves held during the week ended June 8 decreased $166 million to $22,202 million. Estimated currency and coin of member banks decreased $163 million and their reserve balances at the Federal Reserve Banks decreased $3 million. Estimated required reserves increased $87 million; and estimated excess reserves decreased $253 million to $172 million. Member bank borrowings at the Federal Reserve Banks exceeded excess reserves by $375 million, compared with the revised net borrowed figure of $387 million the week before. The principal changes reducing average reserve balances with Federal Reserve Banks were a decrease of $265 million in member bank borrowings and an increase of $239 million in currency in circulation. The principal offsetting changes were increases of $204 million in U. S. Government securities bought outright, $95 million in Federal Reserve float, and $3^ million in acceptances held under repurchase agreements, and a decrease of $102 million in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks. Total Reserve Bank credit increased $91 million. As of Wednesday, outright were $203 million were $6l2 million higher. $156 million, $16 million, June 8, holdings of U. S.
