STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS Released f o r p u b l i c a t i o n Saturday morning, J u l y 6; not e a r l i e r . . g 2 54 Federal Reserve Board, J u l y 5, 1929 CONDITION OF FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS The consolidated statement of condition of the Federal reserve banks on u y 3, nyid.8 public by the Federal Reserve Board, shows an increase f o r the week of $88,400,000 in t o t a l b i l l s and s e c u r i t i e s , an i n c r e a s e of Government secaurities. Member tank reserve deposits increased $36,400,000 re erve note Si ! c i r c u l a t i o n $ 7 7 , 8 0 0 , 0 0 0 , while cash r e s e r v e s declined $31,300,000 and Government deposits $25,600,000. Holdings of discounted b i l l s increased $107,700,000 a t the Federal ^ d t 4 e m ^ n f ? 6 c f Y ° T k ' , $ 1 2 » 6 0 0 ' 0 0 0 a t A t l a n t a , $9,500,000 a t San Francisco ^ ^ St,. Louis, and declined $24,000,000 a t Boston, $9,100,000 a t P h i l a d e l p h i a and $4,100,000 a t Chicago. The System's holdings of b i l l s ought i n open market declined $8,900,000, of Treasury n o t e s $6,200,000 and $ 5 0 0 % T ° e r t l f i C a t e s $2,400,000, while holdings of U.
