CONDITION OF FEDERAL PESEBVE BANKS The c o n s o l i d a t e d statement of c o n d i t i o n cf t h e Fech >al r e s e r v e banks on Februi n c r e a s e of $91,300,000 made p u b l i c by t h e F e d e r a l Beserve Board, shows i n h o l d i n g s of d i s c o u n t e d b i l l s and of $5,500,000 i n acceptances purchased in open market, t o g e t h e r with, a d e c r e a s 3 of $13,>00,000 l a Governmetrc s e c u r i t i e s . As a r e s u l t , t o t a l e a r n i n g a s s e t s went up # 3 , 3 0 0 , 0 0 0 t o $1,129, f 00, OCX). Federal Eosexve n o t e c i r c u l a t i o n increased $29,500,000, while cash r e s e r v e s declined $15,700,000 and n o n - r e s e r v e cash $4,600,000. ' S , r y C . Of t h e remaining banks, four shew a t o t a l i n c r e a s e of $1,700,000 and f o u r a t o t a l d e c l i n e of S3,400,000. An i n c r e a s e of $16,000,000 in holdings of acceptances purchased in open market i s reported by t h e New York r e s e r v e baric, while Doe ton shews a decrease of $7,400,000 i n t h i s item and D a l l a s a d e c r e a s e of $2,700,000. The System's holdings of Treasury n o t e s went down $9,600,000 and cf Treasury c e r t i f i c a t e s - $4,700,000, while holdings of U. S. bonds increased $800,000. The p r i n c i p a l changes in Federal r e s e r v e note c i r c u l a t i o n d u r i n g the week comprise an i n c r e a s e of $11,500,000 reported by the New York bank, $10,700,000 by Cleveland, $5,400,000 by Boston, and^$4,200,000 by P h i l a d e l p h i a , The e i g h t r e maining banks show a n e t d e c l i n e of $3,000,000.
