CONDI Jiosr OF FSD3RAL RESERVE BAMS

The c o n s o l i d a t e d statement of c o n d i t i o n of the F e d e r a l r e s e r v e banks on
February 1$, made p u b l i c by t h e f e d e r a l Reserve Board, shows a decrease f o r
the week of $5,000,000 i n holdiftgs of discounted b i l l s and an i n c r e a s e of
$5,000,000 i n h o l d i n g s of b i l l s bought iri open market And of $2,100,000 in
Government s e c u r i t i e s . Member bank r e s e r v e d e p o s i t s i n c r e a s e d , $7,800,000,
Government d e p o s i t s $37,200,000 and cash r e s e r v e s $3,500,000, while Federal
r e s e r v e n o t e c i r c u l a t i o n d e c l i n e d $26,300,000. Total b i l l s and s e c u r i t i e s '
were $5,100,000 above t h e amount r e p o r t e d a week ago.
The p r i n c i p a l cnanges i n h o l d i n g s of d i s c o u n t e d b i l l s ftir the week were
d e c r e a s e s of $11,900,000 a t t h e Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, $7,100,000
a t Kansas City and $5,200,000 a t Cleveland, and i n c r e a s e s of $9>500,000 a t
New York and $4,200,000 a t D a l l a s . The System's h o l d i n g s of b i l l s bought
in open market i n c r e a s e d $5,000,000, of Treasury n o t e s $l4,400,00Q and of
U. S. bonds $200,000, while h o l d i n g s of Treasury c e r t i f i c a t e s and b i l l s dec l i n e d $12,500,000.

a t t h e F e d e r a l Reserve Bank of Hew York, $6,500,000 a t San F r a n c i s c o and
