CONDITION OF FEDERAL RHSERVE BAMS on The consolidated statement of condition of the Federal r e s e r v e "banks/April 24 rna.de public "by the Federal Reserve Board, shows decreases f o r the week of $19,200,000 i n holdings of discounted "bills and $11,600,000 in Government s e c u r i e s , and a nominal increase in holdings of "bills "bought in open market. Member bdnk reserve d e p o s i t s decreased $12,200,000, Government d e p o s i t s $14,600,000, .and Federal r e s e r v e note c i r c u l a t i o n $700,000, while cash r e s e r v e s increased $17,400,000. Total b i l l s and s e c u r i t i e s were $29,600,000 "below the amount held on Atfril 17. Holdings of discounted b i l l s decreased $14,700,000 a t the Federal Reserve Ban! of Cleveland, $6,800,000 a t S t . Louis, $6,300,000 a t Chicago and $3,700,000 at Ri chmond, and i n c r e a s e d $4,900,000 a t P h i l a d e l p h i a , $2,900,000 a t New York and $4',400,000 a t Kansas City. Hie System's holdings of Treasury n o t e s declined •;11,500,000, while holdings of U. S. bonds and Treasury c e r t i f i c a t e s and of b i l l s "boflight in open market were p r a c t i c a l l y unchanged. Federal r e s e r v e note c i r c u l a t i o n declined $700,000 during the week, increases of s>4,200,000 a t Cleveland and $1,900,000 a t Chicago being more than o f f s e t by a de crease of $2,500,000 at San Francisco and smaller decreases a t 8 other Federal re serve banks.
