C0ITDI2I0EI OF JEEEEAL B3SERVE BA'TIS The consolidated statement of condition of the Federal reserve "banks on April 10, made public by the Federal Reserve Board, slior/s decreases f o r the week of $66,300,000 in holdings of discounted "bills, of ^17,400,000 in b i l l s bought in open market, and of $3,000,000 in Government s e c u r i t i e s . . Member bank reserve deposits declined $33,400,000, Government deposits $12,200,000, and Federal r e serve note c i r c u l a t i o n $5.900,000, while cash r e s e r v e s increased $$3,000,000. Total b i l l s and s e c u r i t i e s were $36,700,000 below the amount held on April 3« Holdings of discounted b i l l s increased $20,200,000 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, $11,200,000 at Hew York and $5,600,000 at Minneapolis, and decreased $71,700,000 a t Chicago, $13,300,000 at St. Louis, $7,300,000 at San Franc i s c o , and $66,300,000 at a l l reserve banks. The System's holdings of b i l l s bought in open market declined $17,400,000 and of c e r t i f i c a t e s of indebtedness $3,500,000, while holdings of U. S. bonds and Treasury notes were p r a c t i c a l l y unchanged. Federal reserve note c i r c u l a t i o n was $5,900,000 l e s s than a week ago, the principal changes being a decrease, of $9,700,000 at Hew York, and i n c r e a s e s of $5,300,000 at Cleveland and $2,*4-00,000 a t Chicago.
