CONDITION OF FEDERAL RESERVE BASTES The consolidated statement of condition of the Federal reserve Jbanks on April 9, made p u b l i c "by the Federal Reserve Board, shows decreases f o r the week of $15,000,000 in holdings of discounted b i l l s , $34,300,000 i n b i l l s bought in open market and $3,100,000 in U. S. Government s e c u r i t i e s . Member bank r e s e r v e deposits declined $30,700,000, Government deposits $13,200,000 and Federal reserve note c i r c u l a t i o n $17,800,000, while cash r e s e r v e s increased $12,500,000. Total b i l l s and s e c u r i t i e s were $52,300,000 below the amount r e ported a week ago. The p r i n c i p a l changes in holdings of discounted b i l l s f o r the week were decreases of $9,700,000 a t the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, $3,800,000 each a t Boston and P h i l a d e l p h i a and $2,300,000 at Chicago, and an increase of $8,800,000 a t Hew York. The System's holdings of b i l l s bought i n open market declined $34,300,000 and of Treasury notes $10,100,000, while holdings of U. S. bonds increased $4,100,000 and of Treasury b i l l s and c e r t i f i c a t e s $2,900,000. Federal reserve note c i r c u l a t i o n increased $5,300,000 a t Cleveland, and declined $12,100,000 a t Hew York, $6,000,000 a t Chicago, $1,400,000 each a t A t l a n t a and St. Louis and $17,800,000 a t a l l Federal reserve banks.
