Publication of the Federal Reserve Board's G.8 statistical release
is being discontinued, effective with this issue.

It is felt that

publication of producer-price data of the kind presented in the release
is no longer needed owing to the new emphasis on stage of processing
data now being shown by the Department of Labor in its presentation
of producer prices.

Most of the data presented in the G.8 release have been provided by
the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Washington, D.C.
20212, and are published by that agency.

See, for example, the monthly

press release on Producer Price Indexes and the monthly publication
entitled Producer Prices and Price Indexes (formerly Wholesale Prices
and Price Indexes).

The data on prices received and paid by farmers which have been carried
in the G. 8 have been taken from Agricultural Prices, a publication issuemonthly by the Department of Agriculture, BSCS and CRB, Room 0005,
Washington, D.C.
