' BANK DEBITS Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Beard by banks in leading cities for the week ending September 2, aggregated $10,636,000,000 or 6*3 per cent above the total of $10,008,000,000 reported for the preceding week. New York City reported an increase of $369,000,000* while ether large increases were as follows: Philadelphia $53,000,000, San Francisco $21,000,000, Baltimore $lo,000,000, Cleveland. $15,000,000, New Orleans $13,000,000 and St. Louis $12,000,000* Reductions of $19,000,000 and. $14,000,000 ware reported by Detroit and Pittsburgh, respectively. ^ * As compared, with the week ending September 3, 1924, debits for the week under review are larger by $2,337,000,000 or 28.2 per cant. Substantial increases are shown for meat of the more important centers, the principal increases being as fol lows: New York City $1,319,000,000, Chicago $108,000,000, Philadelphia $76,000,000, Boston $58,000,000, Detroit $52,000,000, Cleveland $50,000,000, San Francisco $49,000,000, Pittsburgh $35,000,000 and St. Louis $32,000,000. Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published weekly since January, 1919, were about $10,019,O X , 000, as coiqpared with $9,425,285,000 for the preceding week and $7,797,333,000 for the week erd ing September 3, 1924* Debits to individual accounts were reported to the Federal Reserve Board for banks in 254 centers, of which 252 are included in the summary by Federal reserve d istricts.
