Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve Sys'fctem
September 25, 1939

Debits to Individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended September 20, aggregated $9,080,000,000, or 2 percent below the total re­
ported for the preceding week and 6 percent above the total for the corresponding
week ox last year.

. _ Aggregate debits for .the 141 cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $8,317,000,000, compared with $8,601,000,000
the preceding week and $7,920,000,000 the week ended September 21 of last year.
