Debits to individual accounts, /reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ending September 17, aggregated
’000’°00 or 21 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week,
and 37 per cent below the total reported for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published weekly
since anuary 1919 amounted to $12,038,000,000, as compared with $9,923,000,000
for tne preceding week and $19,1Q2,000,000 for the week ending Se-otember IS of
last year.
