Form SB-285 STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS For immediate release BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System September 11, 1939 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended September 6, which included only five business days, aggregated $7,297,000,000, or 8 percent above the total reported for the preceding week and 19 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also in cluded only five business days.
