Bank debits t*s reported by bftnk6 in 33ii leading centers for the month of
August aggregated 60,6ll* million dollars* During the past three months total
debits for the same centers amounted to 192,856 million dollars or 22 per cent
above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in Few
York City there was An increase of 28 per cent compared with the corresponding
three-months period a year ago, and at the 333 other oentors there was an increase
of 19 per cent.
