BANK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week ended
October 1 aggregated $11,505,000,000. Total debits during the 13 weeks ended
October 1 amounted to $129,228,000,000, or 28 per cent above the total reported
for the corresponding period a year ago. ^-t banks in New York City there was an
increase of 2l+ per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at
the other reporting centers there was an increase of 31 P31" cent.
