Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve 3oard by
banks in leading cities for the week onding September 30, aggregated
?10, 296,000,000, or 4 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week and
33 per cent "below the total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to $9,615,000,000, as compared with
$9•243,000,000 the preceding week and $14,457,000,000 the week ending October 1 of'
last year.
