BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
October 31, 1936

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended October 23, aggregated $9,080,000,000, or 4 percent below the total re­
ported for the preceding week and 23 percent above the total for the corresponding
week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $3,443,000,000, compared v/ith $3,704,000,000
the preceding week and $6,331*000,000 the week ended October 30 of last year.
