Released for publication Sunday morning, Oct.21; not earlier. £ANE EEB1TS Debits, to individual account for the week ending October 17 are shown as $8,837,000,000 as compared .with $9,191,000,000 reported for the previous week* The week contained but five business days, Friday, October 1 2 , being ^observed as a holiday in most of the larger cities of the country. New York City reports a decrease for i/he week of $659,000,000, while small decreases are shown for Pittsburgh, Dallas and Milwaukee. All of the other larger centers show higher figures than for the week be fore. The largest increases amounting to. $57,000,000, $52,000,000, $>+1,000,000, $16,000,000, respectively, are reported by Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Compared w ith the corresponding period i n 1922 , debits fo r the week under review show a decrease from $ 1 0 , 235 ,000,000 to $ 8 , 837 , 000, 000 , or about 1 *+ per c e n t .* New York City reports a decrease of $1,^27>000,000, Chicago a decrease of $118,000,000, and Ph ilad e lp h ia a decrease of $14,000,000.
