October 10, 1946 BOARD OP GOVERNORS OF THE FEDEHIL RESERVE SYSTEM (For Immediate Release) G.6 BAM DEBITS—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank debit's as reported by banks in 334 leading centers for the month of September aggregated £0,288 million dollars. During the past three months t o t a l debits for the same centers amounted to 257,392 million dollars or 15»1 P e r cent above the t o t a l reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 8*1 per cent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year ago, and at the 333 other centers there was an increase of 20.0 per cent.
