BARK DEBITS

Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the federal Reserve Board by banks
in leading c itie s , aggregated $10,443,000,000 or 5*8 per cent above the to ta l of
$9.-873,000,000 reported for the preceding week. New York City reports an increase
of $+89, 000, 000, Boston of $80,000,000, Chicago of $18,000,000 and Cleveland of
$17,000,000. Declines of $17,000,000 are/ported for Philadelphia and of $11,000,000
each for San Francisco and Los Angeles.
As compared with the week ending November 7, 1923, debits fo r the week under re­
view show an increase of $1,0 8 4 ,0 0 0 ,0 0 0 or 11.6 per cent.
New York City reports an
increase of $ 1 ,0 3 1 ,0 0 0 ,0 0 0 , Boston ' o f $2&,000,000, Pittsburgh
cf $24,000,000
and Minneapolis of $21 ,0 0 0 ,0 0 0 . Decreases of $22,000,000 fo r Los Angeles of
$18,000,000 for San Francisco and of $16,000,000 for New Orleans are also showi.
Aggregate debits for l 4 l centers for which figures have been published weekly
since January, 1919. were $ 9 ,8 5 7 ,3 0 2 ,0 0 0 as compared with $ 9 ,315,020,000 for the pre■ ceding week and $8, 79*+, 701,000 :for the week ending November 7, 1923*
