STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS
BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
November 29, 1937'

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended November 24, aggregated $8,029,000,000, or 4 percent below the total re­
ported for the preceding week, which included only five business days in most of
the reporting centers, and . 20 percent below the total for the corresponding week
of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,367,000,000, compared with $7,632,000,000
the preceding week and $9,365,000,000 the week ended November 25 of last year.
