For immediate release

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended November 15, which included only five business days, aggregated
$8,122,OCX),000, or 8 percent above the total reported for the preceding week and 5
percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also in­
cluded only five business days.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,404,000,000, compared with $6,845,000,000
the preceding xreek and $7,050,000,000 the week ended November 16 of last year.
