B A M DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week ended
November 12 aggregated $9,070,000,000. Total debits during the 13 weeks ended
November 12 amounted to $136,119,000,000, or 27 per cent above the total reported
for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an
increase of 23 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at
the other reporting centers there was an increase of 29 per cent.
