BANK DEBITS—-DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in 334 leading centers f o r the month of
October aggregated 3 l , 6 l 4 millions d o l l a r s , During the past three months t o t a l
debits f o r the same centers amounted to 225>991 million dollars or 6 per cent above
the t o t a l reported f o r the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York
City there was an increase of llj. per cent compared with the corresponding threemonths period a year ago, and at the 335 other centers there was an increase of
1 per cent.
