Bank debits ai reported b y banks in 274 Reading centers for the month of October aggregated 55*057 million dollars. During the past three months total debits for the same centers amounted to 156,939 million dollars or 11* percent above the total reported for tho corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 8 percent compared with the corresponding threemonths, period a year ago, and at the 273 other centers there was an increase of 17 per cent.
