Form FR-285 For Immediate release axmum foe the press BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System May 29, 1959 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended May 24, aggregated $7,-431,000,000, or 9 percent below the total reported for the preceding week and 8 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,850,000,000, compared with $7,501,000,000 the preceding week and $6,314,000,000 the1week ended May 25 of last year.
