Debits to deposit accounts (except interbank accounts), as reported by
banks in leading cities for the week ended May 22, aggregated $9,233,000,000* Total
debits during the 13 weeks ended May 22 amounted to $111,151,000,000, or 6 percent
above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago.
