Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended May 13* aggregated $7,895,000,000, or 24 percent below the total reported for the preceding week and 11 percent above the total for the corresponding weel: of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,319,000,000, compared with $9,771,000,000 the preceding week and $6,591,000,000 the week ended May 15 of last year.
