Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the F e d e r a l Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ending May 11j aggregated $ 6 ,265,000,000, or
25 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week and 39 Per cent; below
the total for the corresponding week of last year*
Aggregate debits for the l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to $5»79®*000,000, as compared with
$7*311*000,000 the preceding week and $9*562,000,000 the week ending May 13 of
last year.
