Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended May 6, aggregated $10,441,000,000, or 26 percent above the total reported
for the preceding week and 29 percent above the total for the corresponding week, pf
last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for isfliich a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $9,771,000,000, compared with $7,744,000,000
the preceding week and $7,564,000,000 the week ended May 8 of last year.
