BANK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week ended
March 1+ aggregated $11,757*000,000, Total debits during the 13 weeks ended
March 1+ amounted to $ll+.6,385,000,000, or 17 per cent above the total reported for
the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an in­
crease of 9 per cent compared wit h the corresponding period a year ago, and at the
other reporting centers there was an increase of 22 per cent.
