Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for
■fche week ended March 4, aggregated $9,452,000,000, or 23 percent above the
total reported for the preceding week, which included only five business days,
and 10 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the 14.1 cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $8,843*000,000, compared with $7,177,000,000
the preceding week and $8,030,000,000 the week ended March 6 of last year.
