STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS For immediate release BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System March 6 , 1937 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended March 3, aggregated $10,873,000,000, or 22 percent above the total re*parted for the preceding week, vMch included only five business days, and 15 percent above the total for tne corresponding week of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $19,105,000,000, compared with $8,339,000,000 the preceding week and 08,8-43,000,000 the week ended March 4 of last year.
