BANK DEBITS
March 27, 1939

Debits to individual.-accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended March 22, aggregated $8,358,000,000, or 4 percent below the total re­
ported for the preceding week and 10 percent above the total for the corresponding
week of last year*
Aggregate debits for the 141 cities for which a separate total has been mairttained since January 1919 amounted to $7,690,000,000, compared with $8,123,000,000
the preceding week and $7,017,000,000 the week ended March 23 of last year.
