STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System March 27, 1937 For immediate release BANK DEBITS Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended March 24, aggregated $10,451,000,000, or 4 percent below the total re ported for the preceding week and 35 percent above the total for the corresponding week of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to 09,756,000,000, compared with 010,172,000,000 the preceding week and $7,191,000,000 the week ended March 25 of last year.
