ST&EECSOT FOB THE PRESS Released for publication SunCay ciorning, March 19 ; not earlier. S t . 2654. Federal Reserve Board, March IS, 1322. EA'Iv DEPITS Volume of business for the week e r u i^ March 15 was $S,2£'3 ,000,000, showing but a slight increase over the $ 8 ,229 >000,000 reported for the preceding week. Most of the leading centers report snwiler figures for the most recent week, although moderate increases are shown for Boston, Cleveland, Chic..go, Detroit and St. Louis. As compared with the week ending March 76, 1921, the volume of business for the report week was smaller by ,000,COG, or by about 5 per cent. The larger figures for the corresponding veek in 1921 cay be due in part to the fact that it included Inarch l6, and saw a larger volume of income tax checks collected and charged to the tax-payers' accounts than the week of the present year which closed on March 1 5 , the day when the in come tax CxlScks were due. The total ntuiber of centers reporting' this week is 237, of which 163 dj*e included in the svmuiry by Federal reserve districts.
