BANK DEBITS

For immediate release

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
June 24, 1940

Debits to deposit accounts (except interbank accounts), as reported by
banks in leading cities for the week ended June 19, aggregated $9,157,000,000* Tooal
debits during the 13 weeks ended June 19 amounted to $110,115,000,000, or 7 percent
above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago.
