R. 285 For irriediate release STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Syster: June 235 1941 BANK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS, EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week June 18 aggregated $11,494,000,000. Total debits during the 13 weeks amounted to $131,044,000,000, or 19 per cent above the total reported corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was of 13 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and reporting centers there was an increase of 23 per cent.
