BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
June 19, 1939

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended June 14, aggregated $7,543,000,000, or 13 percent below the total repor­
ted for the preceding week and 13 percent below the total for the corresponding
week of last year*
Aggregate debits for the 141 cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $6,922,000,000, compared with $8,030,000,000
the preceding week and $8,010,000,000 the week ended June 15 of last year.
