STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS For immediate release BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System June 19, 1937 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended June 16, aggregated $9,636,000,000, or 17 percent above the total re ported for the preceding week and 3 percent below the total for the corresponding week of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $8,870,000,000, compared with #7,572,000,000 the preceding week and 19,285,000,000 the week ended June 17 of last year.
