BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF 1HE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM (For Immediate Release) June 12, 1952. BANK DEBITS-"DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank debits as reported by banks in 342 leading centers for the month of May aggregated 135,955 million dollars. During the past three months total debits amounted to 415,073 million dollars of 3 per cent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 5 per cent compared with the corresponding three-months period a year ago, and at the other centers there was an increase of 2 per cent.
