BANK DEBITS Debits to individual accounts as reported by banks in leading c i t i e s fo r the week ending July 2 , aggregated $11,352,000,000 or 21,5 per °ent above the total o f $9,349,000,000 reported fo r the preceding week. New York City reports .an increase o f $956,000,000, Chicago - an increase o f $143,000,000, Boston - an increase of $75,000,000 and Pittsburgh >- an increase of $53,000,000. As compared with the corresponding week in 1923, which included only fiv e business days, debits f o r the week under review show an increase o f $1 , 302 , 000,,000 or 12.9 per cent. Most o f the important ©enters report increases over la st year’ s figu res. New York City shows an increase o f $749,000,000, Chicago - an increase o f $125,000,000, Philadelphia - an increase o f $45,000,000 and Boston - an increase of $37,000, 000. Aggregate debits fo r l4 l centers fo r which fig u res have been published weekly since January, 1919. were about $10,755,000,000 as compared with $8,928,177,000 fo r the preceding week and $9,513,801,000 fo r the week ending July 3, 1§23.
