' the press S t.2167« Federal Reserve Board July 30, 1921* BANK DEBITS Volume of business as measured by debits to individual accounts reported to the Federal Reserve Board fo r banks in l4g important clearing house centers declined from $7,371,000,000 fo r the week ending July 20 to $6,695,000,000 fo r the week ending July 27, a decrease of $676,000,000, or 9 per cent. Smaller to tals are reported fo r a ll the leading centers, with the exception of San Francisco. As compared with the corresponding week in 1920 debits fo r the week ending July 27 are smaller by $1,464,000,000, or about IS per cent, this lag being comparable to one of 19 per cent reported fo r the week before, and of 21 per reported fo r the week ending July l 6- A ll of the leading centers report smaller figures fo r the week under review as compared with the corresponding week la st year.
