Below is given the Federal Reserve Board's weekly statement of debits to
individual account reported through the federal Reserve Banks by over 150 of
the country's more important clearing houses. Transactions cover the weekly
periods ending Wednesday, July
and July
the present year and July
1919- The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative figures
by reserve districts for cities reporting complete data for the three weeks
under review.

Total' debits to individual account reported by 152 clearing houses for
the week ending July l4 were about 785 millions, or 9 .2 per cent, larger than
the corresponding total for the five-day week immediately preceding. With
the exception of Philadelphia, New Orleans and Dallas, all the important
centers show substantial gains for the week. For New York City the gain was
496 millions, or 12 per cent.
As compared with the corresponding week in 1919. which saw the payment of
a 10 per cent installment of the Victory loan, also heavy trading on the New
York exchanges, the most recent week shows a decline of 871 millions. For
New york City the decline is about 1,023 millions, or ovev IS per-cent.
