Form FR-285 STATEMENT pop TEE PRESS For immediate release BANK DEBITS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System July 10, 1939 Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended July 5* which included only five business days, aggregated $8,212,000,000, or 2 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week and about the same as the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also included only five business days. Aggregate debits for the ll*l cities for which a separate total has boen maintained since January 1919 amounted to $7*535*000,000, compared with $7*758,000,000 the preceding week and $7*532,000,000 the week ended July 6 of last year.
